Meet Cindy! Cindy is our proud owner
and manager. She is a trained cake decorator, and has been in the business for over twenty-five years. She's
also the one behind the awesome pink walls, and anything leopard print in sight! Cindy loves Black & White cookies
- but only the white half! Thus the Pink & White was born. She's also a fan of Old Fashioned Maple
Walnut Layer Cakes, and anything Lemon. Cindy is super organized and super creative, so she's to credit for our
successes!
Meet Dottie! Dottie is Cindy's best friend, and has worked at several of the couple's bakeries
over the years. Her expertise is going to use at Manhattan Sweets a few days a week, where she is the top seller of
Silk & Satin cakes, our signiature cake and Dottie's absolute favorite! A past marathon runner, Dottie still
stays in great shape, even with all the sweets around!
Meet Melissa! Melissa is a terrific asset to
our team. A local student, Melissa is very outgoing and enthusiatic. She's currently persuing a nursing
career, and we know she'll be great! Melissa loves individual Wildberry Fruit Tarts, and has been known
to overdose on Rainbow Cookies. She has a great attitude and strong character that will make her a great employee wherever
she goes, and we're so lucky to have her on our team. Melissa always brings a positive spirit to the day!
Meet Allie! When Allie first joined us, we had her
pegged as shy and quiet - little did we know! Allie is a quirky and spirited young woman that brings great energy
to our team. Allie attends college locally and works part-time. She has turned us all on to the local Mexican
Food joint, and brings a lot of fun to work. We're so happy to have her with us! Allie likes to snack on a
few Rainbow Cookies, but she's truly a bread and rolls girl!
Meet Amanda! Amanda is a seniorat the Academy of
St. Joseph in Brentwood, and lives nearby with her folks and younger sister, Gabrielle. She's also Werner's
oldest granddaughter! Right now, she's loving cupcakes and Black & White cookies! Amanda is looking forward
to attending college next year, and near or far we know she'll be achieving amazing things in the years to come!
Meet Brooke! Brooke is an Iowa born young woman who has found herself
a way to us, and we couldn't be happier to have her. She is stationed on Long Island as a member of the Coast Guard,
where she is is the sole woman in her unit. We appload her great service, and love that she is around to help a few
days a week when she is off base. More bread than cake, Brooke is still taste testing everything in store!
Meet Paul! Paul
is a great man who helps us keep our store sparkling clean all year round. Paul is a resident at the
home for mentally and intellectually dependant adults, located behind the bakery, and he is an absolute asset to our
team. Always with a smile and a great attitude, we couldn't do it without him! Paul has also opened up our
eyes to all the great residents whom he shares a home with, and we have been able to celebrate Christmas and the winter holidays
with all of those folks for the past three years, caroling and sharing sweets.

Meet Werner! A classically trained baker, Werner
came to the United States from Germany over forty years ago and has been in the business since! He met Cindy when she
worked for him in Brings' Bakery in Brentwood years ago. The two have since partnered in several succesful endeavors,
including five bakeries and two kids! Werner currently works for a wholesale bakery ingredient company, but you'll
see him around on weekends and every now and again - just visiting! Werner loves anything sweet, but especially
anything with raspberry or almond.
Meet Ethel & (camera shy) Joe! Cindy's Parents! They've worked
in all of her bakeries through the years. The duo have become fast favorites of our (slightly younger) counter
staff, sharing old stories and telling jokes. She loves Cheese Danish and Croissants, and - like mother, like daughter
- loves an Old Fahioned Maple Walnut Layer Cake. He loves the Raisin Pecan Scones! While the two have retired, you'll
see them around volunteering their time!
Meet Jackie! Jackie is a local college student, born and raised right here in Islip! She has two
brothers, and a great family. Jackie loves all things Martha Stewart (she's been to the show twice!), and has been
getting crafty at the bakery as well. Jackie is a great help both in the front of the store, behind the counter, and
also in the back, helping the bakers and decorators assemble tortes and make pastries. Jackie knows everybody in town
and has a great relationship with our customers. She loves croissants, and really REALLY dislikes anything
with seeds (silly girl!).
Meet Travis! Cindy and Werner's son, Travis, works in the back of the bakery a day or two a week.
While he's mostly cleaning and organizing right now, he's surely becoming more of our team each week. Travis
is a sophomore at St. John the Baptist High School in West Islip, where he is on the Crew Team. He's
also an amateur entreprenour, walking dogs, sweeping driveways and washing cars in the neighborhood. He loves the
Wildberry Fruit Tart and Brownies!
Meet Tanya! I run this site, so when you e-mail through any of our
links to place an order or with a question, I'm who you'll be corresponding with. Thanks for checking us out,
and I look forward to hearing from you (or seeing you!) soon!!
Meet Nicole! Nicole attends Islip High School, and joined our team this
past June. She is a dedicated employee and hard worker who brings a great attitude to work with her each day.
Extremely friendly and outgoing, Nicole has made fast friends with those customers she didn't already know from her interactions
in town! We're happy to have Nicole on our team, and look forward to working with her for some time yet to come.
Nicole, true to her Italian roots loves cannolli's and rainbow cookies!
Meet Gabrielle! Gabrielle, another of Werner's five granddaughters,
is a great help around holidays and in her time off from school. Gabrielle is a sophomore at the Academy of St. Joseph
in Brentwood. She's a sucker for most sweets, but really loves our Signature Pink and Whites and the Wildberry Fruit
Tart. Stop by for your holiday treats and you'll be sure to see Gabrielle helping us all cope through your orders!
We also have a great crew of bakers in the
back, who are a little camera shy! They are a group of super talented men who help to create the goodies you purchase
each time you shop. They keep us running!
